Have you studied direct object & indirect object? Was it difficult?
Well, we are here with a bad news. Oh yes!!
But first, for those who don’t have any idea, the direct object pronouns in Spanish are Lo,La,Los & Las while that of indirect objects are Le & Les. Indirect objects are those which receive the action ultimately while direct object is the one which receives the action directly.
In majority of the cases of Indirect object pronouns Le & Les is used for Human beings. But in case of Direct Object Lo, La, los & las are to be used. But some spaniards replace Lo,La,Los & Las by Le & Les for no reason. So should there be or should not be Le & Les?
In Castellano there is a concept called Leísmo. It refers to the use of Le & Les , the indirect objects in place of Lo,La,Los,Las the direct object pronouns, specially in sentences where the direct objects are human beings.
For eg. Blend In helps the students to learn Spanish better. So in Spanish one would say
Blend In los ayuda a los estudiantes a aprender Español
But for some Spaniards it is
Blend In les ayuda a los estudiantes aprender Español
While the Leísmo de persona (The one written above is permitted by Real Academia de Española, the apex organization responsible to create & maintain the linguistic standards of Spanish across the world) the loísmo and laísmo (the reverse, i.e. using Lo,La,Los & Las in place of Le/Les) are not accepted.
Have you observed it anytime?
