There are various fields across which Spanish language has found its way into the job world. Here are some of them enlisted

Interesting fact: Reportedly, only 20% of the Hispanic population speaks English & hence everything needs to be translated to English.

  • Translation: Document translation is one of the most sought field for free lance Spanish professionals. It includes translation of documents from Eng-Spa & Spa-Eng. The rates vary depending on the document & the expertise of the translator. But yes an expert translator can earn upto INR 2-3 per word
  • Interpretation: One of the most challenging or thrilling jobs of Spanish language is the interpretation. This includes interpretation for engineering, medical, tourism, business fares even Diplomats. Since it is challenging & needs expertise, the price ranges from INR 3,000/day to , in some cases, as high as INR 20,000/day. Expert interpreters are even hired internationally, if they have the required experty in origin & target languages & required VISA eligibility.
  • Voice overs: Voice overs are scares. But one of the best jobs of the language field. They include giving voice for International or National projects. This needs high skills of pronunciation.  
  • Chat bots: In this world of automation there are various websites who install chat bots to automatically chat with the internet users. If the interface is to be converted to Spanish the chat bots has to be engineered by a Spanish professional.
  • Call centers: As mentioned before there is a large chunk of population who does not speak English & hence Spanish becomes the only source of communication with them. Call centers in India employ thousands of employees every year for regions like USA, Mexico, Argentina, Cuba, Colombia & all other Central & South American Countries
  • Full time , in house translator & interpreter: Many software companies which provide software support to projects in Spain & South America employ translators for solving language related querries.
  • Tutoring: Last but not the list is the tutoring. Although tutoring does not pay as much as the translation or interpretation, it gives you an opportunity to discover the language in depth. It requires a thorough knowledge of the language from many sides, may that be vocabulary or the grammar.
