At Blend In , we have divided the courses based on CEFR (Common European Frame of Reference of Languages)This index divides all European languages based on a common scale.
Just to get a rough idea of the objectives of these levels, we have simplified the interpretations given by Council of Europe.
A1: This is the basic stage. The candidate at this stage will be able to talk about himself/herself & his/her surroundings in a basic way. For eg. Introducing oneself, talk about tastes & choices, tell address, talk about friends & family in a basic way.
A2: This is the stage 2. At this stage candidate learns vocabulary of a higher order (neighborhood, leisure activities/hobbies, food, body parts, etc) compared to level A1. As far as Spanish is concerned, this stage also marks the introduction of two of the past tenses, Pretérito Imperfecto & Pretérito Indefinido.
B1: This is stage 3. At this stage candidates learn to talk about global topics in a basic way. Topics like advertising, education, science, environment etc. Grammatically this is a stage that introduces , some of the most important concepts like subjunctive & periphrasis.
B2: This is stage 4. This is an advanced stage of the language & makes the candidate give an opinion about the global topics. This stage demands a sufficient fluency of the candidate with a minimum number of errors. Grammatically this is the culmination (approximately 90% of the grammar concepts) of all the grammar concepts. One can start working as an intern ,if not full-time, interpreter, translator or teacher after completing the course & subsequently getting the DELE certificate.
C1: This is stage 5. This stage is a near native stage & demands fluency & accuracy of the words while using the language. This level tests candidate’s ability to comprehend &/or express in all the forms of language, speaking skills, listening comprehension, written comprehension & written expression.
C2: This is native stage. At this stage the candidate is expected to understand & speak practically everything put in front of him/her. Whether it is written or spoken.
